Cyle O’Donnell, M.S., MFA/D Owner/Founder

Having worked as an environmental scientist in Alaska, Professor O’Donnell headed up soil aeration and gas-range organics remediation projects like oil spills and well developments for aged, Cold War-era diesel tank farms, to delineating natural gas pipelines from Bristol Bay to Wasilla. He’s also taught in the sciences and in journalism and documentary studies at seven universities in five countries, including the U.S., Bulgaria, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Thailand. Since the pandemic, O’Donnell has released a nine-time award-winning documentary, published three nonfiction books, and has catalogued a wide variety of severe storm events from Montana to Alabama.

Garret Hensley, Data Analytics

As the chief data analytics engineer, Garret coordinates storm data to realtime damage reports we submit that are later used to help better prepare early warning systems for the NSW, NOAA, and a variety of weather forecasting channels.

Vira Stearns, Administration/HR

The lifeblood of the team, Vira handles the admin, strategy and data communications between our storm data aggregators.

Renee Wilson, Team Lead

An avid traveler, Renee comes from the adventure industry, working at the Grand Canyon, Montana, Washington and elsewhere. Renee’s degree in physical therapy also helps her train canvassers in the field to collect boots-on-the-ground data in uncertain terrain and sometimes dangerous conditions.
